Day Nineteen |
Friday 14th June |
Not much to report, really. Everything went according to plan on the journey home.
I would like to register the opinion that Tokyo Narita airport is truly awful
and that the check-in system is poor. However, the key to the entire day was the
in-flight movies, which luckily were pretty good, including "Ali" and "Monsters,
Inc". There was a little cheer on the flight when we were told that Japan
had beaten Tunisia and were through to the next round, but that was about it. Arriving in England, Sultoon made himself scarce pretty much immediately while George and I decided to get the bus direct to Oxford and watch the England-Denmark game in the JCR. After that, you all know what happened. So, all in all, a quality holiday. The day of the England game was obviously the highlight and a day that we won't forget, but there was plenty of value at every turn, and there are lots of things that we'll always remember about the trip. Thanks to Yuhei (and his family) for giving us the idea to go out there, to everyone in Japan for making it an amazing place to visit which I'd recommend to anyone, and finally to anybody who didn't go on the holiday but has still bothered to read as far as Day 19 on a day-by-day diary as tedious as this one must surely have been. Cheers, Graham. |
